Brian von Moos Joins Leading Developer and Financier of Utility-Scale Solar Projects
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#SEIA—Renewable Properties, a leading developer and financier of 1-20 MW utility solar energy projects; like the recently completed American Canyon Solar Project, today announced that Brian von Moos has joined the executive team as Chief Development Officer (CDO).
As the CDO, Brian will be responsible for Renewable Properties’ overall strategy, origination, and development of greenfield solar and energy storage projects. With over 15 years of experience, developing commercial and utility solar power projects, Brian brings an extraordinary depth of knowledge and breadth of related skills to the role.
“A great deal of knowledge about the energy markets, an understanding of solar regulations, and an overall persistence is required in order to develop, finance and build utility-scale solar energy projects across the U.S.” said Aaron Halimi, founder and president of Renewable Properties. “Our goal is to become a leader in locally sited solar for utilities across the country, and having Brian on the team ensures the company is able to execute on the existing pipeline, grow the team and lead our efforts into new markets.”
“I am really excited to join Aaron and the Renewable Properties team,” said Brian von Moos. “I’m proud of what the team has achieved to date and thrilled to be part of its future moving forward. The current market opportunity and timing is right for Renewable Properties to continue building on its foundation as an industry-leading platform focused on the small utility project development space.”
Von Moos joins Renewable Properties from independent power producer, Coronal Energy (acquired by Lincoln Clean Energy), where he was VP of Origination, managing sales and the origination of power purchase agreements for large solar and battery storage projects. Prior to Coronal, Brian worked at Borrego Solar for twelve years holding several leadership positions including VP of Utility Project Development, where he oversaw the development and origination of small utility solar projects throughout North America.
